Lodge Socials

Lodge socials are an important part of life at Redwood Lodge, offering members, their wives, partners, and friends the chance to come together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. These gatherings help strengthen the bonds of friendship and fellowship that lie at the heart of Freemasonry. Social events also play a key role in welcoming new members, giving them the opportunity to meet the wider lodge in an informal environment and feel part of the Redwood family from the very beginning.

Ten-pin bowling

The Redwood Lodge 3411 annual bowling night is a cherished tradition—unless you’re me, it's a masterclass in how not to bowl. Somehow, I scored lower than someone who didn’t even turn up. But while my bowling skills remain a mystery (even to me), the night is always a brilliant laugh, full of friendly competition, dodgy techniques, and plenty of encouragement, especially for those of us who treat the gutters like a personal challenge.

Dining out

When Redwood Lodge 3411 goes out for a social meal, it's less “fine dining” and more “Feast of Laughter.” Between trying to decipher the menu, debating who ordered the mystery side dish, and watching someone heroically battle a peppercorn sauce, there's never a dull moment. Someone always insists on splitting the bill with mathematical precision, while another mysteriously vanishes just before it’s time to pay. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, and it’s absolutely brilliant every single time.

Ladies Festival

The Redwood Lodge Ladies Festival is the one night of the year when we all try to look like we know how to dance, behave, and not spill gravy on our ties—and usually fail at all three. It’s a glamorous evening where the ladies shine, the speeches teeter on the edge of sentimental and slightly tipsy, and the dancefloor becomes a battlefield of questionable footwork and dad moves. But between the laughter, the toasts, and the dodgy attempts at the waltz, it’s a night we all look forward to—and a gentle reminder of how lucky we are to have such wonderful women putting up with us!
